Scene: 24 - INT. JOHNSON MANOR HOUSE - BEDCHAMBER - DAYVirginia stands in the doorway and invites him in. She closes the door behind him. Virginia’s bedchamber is awomb of femininity. It is filled with lace, soft pillows,and finery. She directs him to sit in a loveseat. She picks up a pillow in a crimson sham and places it onhis lap. Then she places his hands on the pillow. John Casor is too intimidated to respond. He appears confused. Virginia Johnson dramatic pause. He nods an uncertain nod. He does not. She continues, without waiting for his reply. She slaps him across the face, without enough force tocause pain, but sufficient to gain his attention. He hands over the pillow. He moves toward the door and opens it. Virginia stops him. Virginia closes the door, picks up the crimson pillow, andclutches it against her body. She goes to the window andpeers out for a moment. Then she hops onto her bed and lieson her side, still clutching the pillow. |
